30th April 2024 was my last working day at IndiaMART where I worked for 8 years.
I am now on my own, trying to build a sustainable business that helps me live the life I am blessed to have.

No, I was not frustrated with my job.
I liked the salary, the recognition, and my work.
I was not elated every day but that is not the reason to quit.
In fact working in a bootstrapped profitable business, working closely with the founder, and being part of the decision-making process for the past 8 years - is the reason I feel confident that I can pull off a smaller version of it.
When IndiaMART went for an IPO in 2018, I was a big beneficiary of the event.
It cemented the fact that hockey stick growth is possible only in businesses.
You will never have a hockey stick growth in salaries - no matter what company you work for.
The uptick comes after a long period of slow or no growth but I have prepared myself mentally and financially to endure that.
The conviction about owning equity in a tech business is at the root of this decision.
